In 2024, I worked with the Policy Research Organization (PRO) on an E-Governance report that assessed and ranked local urban governments. The project deepened my understanding of local governance and the role of accessible information in empowering citizens and policymakers. I was impressed by PRO’s focus on data-driven research that supports informed decisions and sustainable development.

I had the incredible opportunity to intern full-time with the Policy Research Organisation (PRO) from December 2023 to January 2024, working on the ‘City E-Governance Index 2024.’
The PRO team is exceptional, providing unwavering support in a nurturing work environment that enabled me to reach my full potential. My main collaboration was with Neha Mahajan Ma’am, whose vibrant personality not only helped me unlock my potential but also provided continuous guidance throughout various aspects of the project. Tanmay Kanitkar Sir, the President of PRO, proved to be an outstanding mentor, always acknowledging my efforts and offering his full support. I feel fortunate to have worked alongside remarkable team members like Manoj Joshi Sir, Dr. Sharda Bapat Ma’am, Gaurav Deshpande Sir, and Pranav Jadhav, whose partnership made the work environment both enjoyable and collaborative.

I would like to thank Team PRO for the opportunity provided through this internship. It has allowed me to learn valuable skills, including effective teamwork, utilizing online tools and digital platforms to access resources and materials, and understanding the importance of gathering and organizing specific data. I have also gained insight into how to compress and maintain data in a well-structured and presentable manner. I would also like to thank Neha Ma’am and Tanmay Sir for their continuous guidance and support throughout the internship.

My internship at PRO has been an incredibly rewarding experience. Throughout my time there, I had the privilege of working with a team of supportive and knowledgeable professionals. I was truly impressed by the organization’s dedication to excellence in public policy and governance, and I feel fortunate to have contributed to the ‘Cities in Sansad Project.’ Before this internship, I had minimal knowledge or practical understanding of the election process in India. However, thanks to this project, I now have a comprehensive understanding of the entire general election process, which has been the most satisfying aspect of my internship.
